The Chesterfield Observer
WHAT IS IT?
Detailed observations of passenger and freight workings passing Chesterfield from 1981 to 1988.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Mostly railway enthusiasts wanting to check up on a particluar working but also historians, modellers and anyone requiring detailed information about railway operations from a bygone age.
HOW DO I USE THE SITE?
Information is all in chronological order. On the left is a "Date Selector" and a simple "Search Box". To select a specific date just run your mouse over the year, month and day, or you can select a whole month at a time.
HOW DO I USE THE SEARCH BOX?
This is a simple but effective search box:
  • If you input a single number or word to search for you will receive a list of pages by date where that number or word can be found - note: the dates are not in chronological order
You then search the page for your desired number or word, uppercase or lowercase are treated the same..
  • If you input more than one word or number or a combination eg loco number, reporting number, date etc. you will receive a list of pages on which all your words can be found - note: the dates are not in chronological order and although all the words/numbers can be found on each of the pages they are not necessarily all together on the same line.
