A nostalgic look at how it used to be, most of the locos are now history and many of the sheds too! Click here for Shed Surprise CROMPTON CAROUSEL Class 33s were the main motive power on the Cardiff-Portsmouth corridor in the 1980s. From 1986 to 1988 I spent a week's holiday each year riding behind them mainly between Southampton and Warminster but taking the odd ride a little further afield behind 50s plus 73s on the Bournemouth-Waterloos. Starting from Weymouth each day this is the story of the great days of "Crompton" haulage in the late 1980s. A photo gallery is included. Click here for Crompton Carousel MILTON KEYNES DRIFTER For the whole of 1987 I worked at London Euston parcels depot and lived in Milton Keynes, travelling each day backwards and forwards - drifting! Class 81s, 85s, 86s and 87s were the main motive power at the time along with the class 310 EMUs. This is a detailed record of what I travelled on and what I saw, - it is a year in my life, a travelling diary if you like. A photo gallery is included.
